ACCOMPANIMENT PROGRAMME
The Accompaniment Programme is a deep learning partnership that matches an organisation with a specially trained prevention mentor for 18 to 24 months. It is best suited to organisations already engaged in VAW and/or VAC prevention work that seek to strengthen or expand their programming or develop a funding proposal to do so.
Examples of our support include:
- Supporting organisations to integrate VAW prevention into existing curricula that go beyond awareness-raising to behaviour change.
- Helping organisations build or refine the logic behind their prevention programming.
- Supporting organisations to contextualise successful models from elsewhere for their own setting.
- Capturing learning from the process to contribute to the wider evidence base.

Prevention programmes
The Cluster Programme is a shared learning experience that brings together four to six organisations from similar parts of the world for six months of collective learning, mentoring, and reflection. Organisations working in VAW/VAC prevention come together to explore the evidence, learn from each other’s experience, and develop concrete plans to strengthen their prevention work.
The cluster focuses on:
- Deepening organisations’ understanding of VAW/VAC prevention essentials, including strategies and key elements of effective programming.
- Applying learning to create concrete VAW/VAC prevention plans that move from awareness-raising to behaviour change.
- Strengthening relationships and networks across the global VAW/VAC prevention field.

The Learning Lab is our online learning platform, offering a range of self-paced and facilitated courses, short, interactive learning experiences (microlearning), and a Violence Prevention Academy for programme practitioners and programme managers working in violence prevention, as well as for feminist activists and women’s rights defenders.
Our courses are designed to:
- Build foundational and advanced knowledge of VAW/VAC prevention, including social norms, behaviour change, and programme design.
- Strengthen practical skills to design and deliver quality, evidence-informed prevention programmes.
- Connect and learn from a global community of prevention practitioners and facilitators.
- Access knowledge that is constantly evolving and updated as the evidence base grows and is shaped by practitioners.

Strategic Advisory Services are for organisations seeking to apply the Prevention Collaborative’s expertise in VAW/VAC prevention to a specific task, programme, or strategic challenge. Unlike the Cluster and Accompaniment programmes, which follow a structured learning arc, advisory services are delivered as a consultancy, tailored to the organisation’s specific needs, timeline, and goals. We engage in both longer-term capacity-strengthening relationships and shorter assignments, adding targeted value to an organisation’s prevention work.
Our support may include:
- Programme design and adaptation, including integrating gender-transformative approaches into existing initiatives.
- Theory of change development and strategic review.
- Evidence review and synthesis to inform organisational decision-making or proposal development.
- Facilitation and training designed for a specific organisational context or team.
- Technical input to proposals, reports, or knowledge products aligned with the Collaborative’s mission.
