Social Norms Background Reader

In this background reader, the Learning Collaborative to Advance Research and Practice on Normative Change for Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health and Well-being provides a useful overview on social norms change to improve the sexual and reproductive health and well-being of adolescents and young people.

In light of programmatic efforts to reduce and prevent gender-based violence, early marriage and early parenthood across the world, this report documents what social norm change theory and approach entail, how they influence behaviour, how to measure change, and how to scale-up interventions. The report is informed by deliberations at a Learning Collaborative Convening Meeting held in December 2016.
