Toolkit for Optimising Cash-based Interventions for Protection from Gender-based Violence — Part 1
This toolkit by the Women’s Refugee Commission (WRC) put forth a set of tools to support programmes that focus on cash-based interventions and gender-based violence in crisis and conflict settings.
It provides tools for practitioners involved in cash-based interventions and gender-based violence to analyse the context and identify specific risks and needs, design cash-based interventions that are tailored to address gender-based violence, and implement monitoring and evaluation that is based on the identified risks.
Part 1 Contents
Part 1 of this toolkit consists of a guidance note targeted at practitioners of cash-based interventions. It provides instructions on identifying protection risks associated with cash-based interventions, by taking into account gender dynamics at play.
It provides tools for practitioners in humanitarian settings to assess their cash-based interventions and design their interventions to mitigate the protection risks, including gender-based violence. It provides guidance on designing programmes that are inclusive of marginalised populations, and encourages working with gender-based violence specialists and practitioners.
The toolkit further consists of a guide to conduct focus group discussions with beneficiaries of cash-based interventions to identity protection risks, including gender-based violence. It further provides tools useful for monitoring and evaluation. The complete toolkit can be found on the Women’s Refugee Commission website.
